The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Soldiers Table

Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.

Heads-up: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.

This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.

What Defines the Combat Party

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.

At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.

The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty place.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their status as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the family.

This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in search of the traitor.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.

Viewers can look forward to learning which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
